NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL MEETS
PALMERSTON N., 21st Jan. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Croquet Council the executive reported an increase in membership, which now stood at 2521. Two more clubs had affiliated. The executive considered that efforts should be made in Hawkes Bay to have several clubs affiliated with the Manawatu Association. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £76 9s 7d. It was decided that the next Dominion tournament be held at Christchurch in January next, and the next North Island tourney at Wellington on a date to be arranged. Officers were elected as follow:—Mr. T. F. Chambers (Canterbury), president; Mrs. Earl M'Kenzie (Wellington), vicepresident. Official handicaypers were elected as follow:—Mrs. JM'Keesing (Auckland), Messrs. J. Murray (South Auckland), H. P. Stratton (Hawkes Bay), R. Caughley (Wellington), and T. F. Chambers (Canterbury). The appointment of further handicappers was left in the hands of the associations concerned. ■
