Winston Churchill, evidently among the Liberals who do not relish' the idea of supporting Labour, has published a letter Wnerein he declares that the enthronement of a Socialist Government in office would bo a serious national misfortune, comparable to defeat in war. He contends that the exhortation to ,r;ivo a chnnie to Labour would only really jnean giving a fair chance to faction and manoeuvre. He paint 3 a dark picture of the result of Socialist minority rule, and 'suggests that aftej" Mr. Clynes's amendment to tho Ad-dress-in-Reply is carried, the House further record its repudiation of ' Socialism and its distrust of the advocates of the capital levy and nationalisation.
