Bail was allowed as previously. ..Jfor being found on licensed premises after hours.. Waller Bannister was fined1 £1 and costs. . Edward iCloake appeared' on - charges of being found, unlawfully: in possession of firearms and ammunition. Mr. J. F. B. Stevenson, for the defendant, pointed out that the arms had been purchased from a friend who returned from • the 4 Boer War. The revolver bore the date of 1897, and one of tile rifles was choked "with dirt: Accused was' fined £5 'With costs on one charge, and convicted and discharged on the others: ■', • : Bernard Burns, for iising threatening behaviour, was fined £3 with F. Clewer, for failing to', close his shop at the proper time, and.for selling cigarettes; after hours, was-fined'£2 with costs 7s on each charge. On •similar charges, Peter ,Chan was fined 5a with costs, and £1 with costs; E. Ginsberg, £2 -with 7s costs on each charge; Mrs. A. Leilch, £2 with 7s, costs on both charges; H. Kennedy and J. Orr, for failure to close their .shops at the proper time, were each fined 10s with 7s costs. For failing 'to keep a time and wages book, C. E. Mullis was fined £1 with 75.1 costs. . \ ■ ■. . ':
