SENSATIONAL ROBBERY

■ / . ; PERTH, This Day. A sensational robbery occurred at 6 o'clock yesterday evening. ■ A welldressed man entered the: West Perth Post Office, and covering the manager with a revolver, emptied the cash drawer, securing about £20. ' 'Police Sergeant Hunter, seeing !a man running, pursued the robber, who turned and fired at the police officer, but missed. He then ran to a motor-car and compelled the driver, at the" revolver's 'point, to start. ■' A police motor-cycle followed, and on reaching the park the robber left the car 'and dived into the- bush, the police following. The fugitive fired •five running -shots ■at • them,-- thereby Securing a lead.. Emerging from the park he held up another motor-car, threatening toi.shqqt the' driver,- and compelled him! to, drive rapidly away, and so escaped. . ' ■
