LONDON TALLOW SALES.
LONDON, 16th January. At the tallow sales fi79 cases were offered and 033 were sold. Good flue sorts advanced by 6d, and others'by 2s. Quotations: Mutton, fine 49s (ki, medium 45s (id; beef, fine 47s 6d, medium 44.8 9d.
The Bank of New Zealand, Produce Department, ha 3 received the following advice from its London office, under date 16th January:— "Tallow.—Active dernaDd continues. Current' quotations :—Good mutton, -!Us to 49s 6d per cwt; beef and mixed, 40s; gut, 3Ss to 425" The New Zealand Loau arid Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London house under date 16, th January:—"Tallow.—We quote- present spot values for the following descriptions :—Fine mutton, 50s ■ per cwt; good beef. 4Cs per cwt; mixed, 13s Cd. Market active." Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, re, port having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of the 10th January:—"London Tallow Sales.—«Bo casks tallow offered acd practically all .sold.' Since our last report prices are as ifoilow:. Medium and inferior descriptions, 2si per cwt higher; other descriptions, (id per cwt higher: beef tallow is quoted at 47s per cwt."
