EMPRESS THEATRE.
' The snows of the North are the background for a stirring photo drama, entitled "Where the North Begins," which is being' screened for the first time at the Empress Theatre to-day. Rin-Tin-Tin, the famous dog, plays an important part in this Warner Bros.' classic, and his uncanny acting is' worth going far to see. The story deals with Gabriel Dupre, a young French-Canadian trapper, who returns from a, far north trip and finds the Hudson Bay' trading post in consternation over the disappearance of five men, missing after setting out singly with load 3of furs. Gabriel undertakes to make the trip. Gabriel is shot down and left for dead by a band of outlaws. A wolf, attacks him in his weakened condition, but he turns out to be a dog who had joined the wolf-pack. The two_ became friends, and together succeed mi running down the gang of crooks, in Galloway's employ. Claire Adams plays the feminine lead "as Felice; with Walter M'Grail opposite her as Gabriel. Others in the cast are Pat Hartigan, Myrtle Owen, Charles Stevens^ and F.-rd Huntley. Box plan at the Bristol till 5 p.m., then at Theatre, Telephone 5442.
