FOR THE ORPHANS

A street day will be held to-morrow in aid of St. Joseph's Orphanage, Upper Hutt. This worthy institution provides accommodation for over 300 orphans of all denominations, and is conducted by the Sisters of Mercy. The ages of the children range from two to fourteen year 3. Those who have seen the orphanage know of the splendid manner in which these unfortunate children, who have lost their parents, are cared for by the. devoted Sisters. Appeals on behalf of children, and especially orphan children, have always been generously responded to by the citizens of Wellington, and it is expected that they will subscribe to this cause to-morrow with their usual generosity.
