Large numbers of citizens interested in motor-cars and motor-vehicles of all kinds visited Olympia, the new harbour Board shed near Pipitea, Wharf, on K^t "'f^V* 0 Eec what is perhaP 3 tile nnest exhibition of motor-cars shown in tho Dominion apio the present time. J-Jie handsome cars of the leading manufacturers attracted the -keenest attention,^ and wero tho subject of warm appreciation by the admiring throng or interested spectators. . The building' was a blaze of light, which was reflected by the snini.ncr and really beautiful cars of all descriptions. There were about a hundred motor vehicles, including cars, tractors, and trucks. Motor accessories of every kind were also on view. The number of motor-cars- now in New Zealand was shown by a poster-diapram to be over 40,000. There are in the Dominion 139 public motor services in connectionwith the railways, run by private enterprise, and 334 motor mail services whilst the Post and Telegraph ■ Department owns between 300 and 400 motor vehicles for the collection of mails, etc., and most of the Government Departments own numbers of motor-cars for different Purpose;.. Motor engineering has also developed to such an extent as to' have become quite an important industry. In 1922 it had risen to fifteenth place in this department of enterprise so.far as th value of its products were concerned. ■ The exhibition is a. particularly striking one. and will n 0 doubt attract" large numbers throughout the week. . .
