■Selwyn and Hutt had their second enccmnter at the Unit Recreation Ground, and it .was: keen from start to finish. Hutt had- the advantage in the first spell, but many advances by their forwards failed to materialise.- In addition fo holding out against the- attackers, Selwyn were able- to turn the tide on occasions, but their .-.efforts wero successfully stopped, and the result of a strenuous first spell- was no score. Early after, the change-over the town team' set out to break the opposing defence, and Chadwiek was instrumental in scoring a good try,' which M'Brearty converted That" stirred Hutt, and "in the later stages of the game the suburban forwards; led by Boyce, made reputed endeavours to wip6 off the deficiency. The solid work of the forwards was not supported, and Selwyn were able to set up a strong defence; so that Hutt were unable to gain their «nd. In the good defensive- work that was carried out, Christie (Hutt) and Wogan (Selwyn) word conspicuous.. -The game "ended: Selwyn 5, Hutt 0. J
