ORIENTAL BEAT VARSITY.

A very ragged game at WakefieW Park between Oriental and 'Varsity resulted in- a win for the former by 13 points to 3. Apart-from the damp and unreliable state of the ground, conditions ■were ideal for the playing of good football, thowiud, a fresh southerly, giving no particular advantago to either side. Both teams were in a particularly talkative mood, and the players had. not infrequently to be admonished, and in some cases warned for this lack of control. Oriental had the upper hand throughout the game, and had play been taken a little more seriously, they would undoubtedly ( have won by a more substantial margin. The teams were as follow:— ■ ■ .

Oriental.—Newall; Smith, Greig, Carroll ; "Wickens, Hume; Tulloch; Simmonds; Brown, Hepburn, Moftiitt, Pringle, Biggs, Bennett, and A. Gilchrist.

Moffitfc secured, and amid many 'cries to pass, and much advice from his colleagues, put; hig head down and unsuccessfully endeavoured to "bullock" his way through the College defence.
