At 8 *.m. tc-day the following forecast was issued for the Hihcequent 24 hours :— Winds—Strong westerly winds northward of Farewell Spit and Cisco Campbell, but southerns prevailing everywhere soon. ]}arc.i_et<rr--_ise everywhere; soon. Seas—Heavy between Castlepoint and Kaikoura; considerable on ail the western coast; raagh elsewhere. Tides—Good. Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Tiritiri, Castlepoint, Cape Camobell, Stephen Island, and Farewell Spit.
