ARRIVALS. August 14—Wnitangi, s.s. (1.15 p.m.), 171 ton?, Fisk, from Patea August 14—John, s.s. (2.25 p.m.), 342 tons. Hawick, from Dunedin . STEAMER LLEWELLYN. The Shipping List of 30th July states that notwithstanding the discovery of wreckage on the Queensland coast, near Yeppoon, hopes are still entertained in some quarters for tho satety of the missing Government steamer Llewellyn. It is contended that the wreckage could not come from the Llewellyn, as • she was last seen passing Cape Capricorn, and having passed there any wreckage from her would not drift towards the spot where the discovery was made. i PORT HACKING DUE WEDNESDAY. ', The C. and D. Line announced this morning that the Port Hacking, with returning troops on hoard, is due at Lyttelton on Wednesday next from London, via Panama. Her ports of discharge will be Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, but her Homeward loading ports are not yet known. SJ ' PERSONAL. Mr, Bushart, chief engineer of the Komata, has signed on. the Mararoa in a similar capacity. . ' There were numerous applicants for cargo space on tho Blenheim, which is sailing for l Foxton to-day under the auspices of Levin and ' Co. The^'company's office staff had a busy ! time this morning in dealing with those desirous of forwarding cargo to Foxton. ! The »Shaw-Savill steamer Pakcha, en route from Wellington to the United Kingdom, arrived at Panama, on the 9th August. She left Wellington on the 17th July. *.
