NAVY LEAGUE MATTERS
The executive committee of the Navy League met yesterday afternoon. There were present: Col. Campbell (in the chair), Mesdames Hall-Thompson, Bradney Williams, J. Darling, and C. E. Richp.rdson, .Miss Laurenson, Col. Roberts, Captain Chudley, Messrs. A. F. Wiren, C. W. Chilman, Underwood, C. W. Palmer, B. Koesing, and the lion, secretary (Mr. E. Darroeh). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. J. B. Harcourt, C. R. Smith, and W. H. Foster. Mr. Keesing, chairman of tho Education Committee, announced that it had been decided to present New Zealand ensigns to all schools which enrolled 100 members this year. He also reported that a successful lantern lecture on tho work of the Navy in the great war-had- been given in Maranui Sohool, and he praised tho children and parents of Lyall Bay district for their great interest in naval matters.
Mrs. Darling reported that ninety girls had joined the junior branch of the Navy League, and that fifty moro wero in sight. Mrs. Hall-Thompson said that' she had received a letter from Captain Armstrong, wherein ho stated that Pieton had supplied tho whole of the gramophones for the motor boats, and that Lady Drury had acknowledged with grateful thanks the receipt from Wellington of comforts for the sailors.
