A big crowd watched the removal of Freeman from the Sonoma to the Garrison Hospital at Victoria Barracks, pending the decision of the Minister of Defence; Freeman broke his self-imposed fast last evening when informed that he was to be removed, but. is very weak after several foodless days. He had to be carried out on a stretcher.*
Tho wharf labourers resumed the loading of the Sonoma when Freeman's removal was assured.
The Minister of Defence has promised Mr. Tudor and the other labour leaders that Cabinet will consider the request for a free, trial for Freeman.
