SYDNEY, 4th June. This evening the influenza position is again less roassuring. There, were over 100 new cases and-"seven deaths in the metropolitan area to-day. In several of ■the country, centres the epidemic shows an increasing tondency. Precautions are being readopted in tho country districts against the spread of the disease.
BRISBANE, 4th June. Influenza continues to increase its hold both in-the city and country districts. Up to Monday 6595 eases had been reported in the metropolitan area, and 2113 in tho country. Since Saturday there _have been over 40 deaths, including nine in the country.
