Tho late Sergeant-Major Ornate, who was killed as the result of a fall on the returning transpott Pakeha, was accorded a military funeral at Christchurch on Sunday. The deceased was interred in the Linwood Cemetery in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends. Tho body was carried to the cemetery on a gun carriage, in charge of Sergeant Wetherall, and the pallbearers were a party of six returned soldiers. The Rev. J. Hervey, a brother-in-law of the deceased, officiated at the graveside. , At the conclusion of the ser- j vice, the "Last Post" was sounded. ! Persons suffering with foot ailments would be well advised to interview Mr. Percy L. Brady, of Lindsays, Ltd., Lambton-quay.
