. At the Lower Hutt Juvenile Court to- , "day two girls, aged 13 years and 9 years respectively, were charged with the theft of leadlights, mirrors, glass, and other goods from an unoccupied house in Norrnaudale. The police- reported that the girls' mother was principally to blame, as she had assisted tho children in their theft. Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., adjourned the case for six months, the children in the meantime to be under the supervision of the police. Tho waters surrounding tho Hawaiian Islands outside of tho coral reofe. which make beach bathing safe, are infested with enoi-mou. sharks to such an extent that a Japanese expert in fishery has organised a comprehensive, plan of shark hunting for the oil and skins.
