WINNIPEG STRIKE
CITY PRACTICALLY ISOLATED,
NEW YORK, 21st May (delayed). The New York Times correspondent at Montreal states that the strike in Winnipeg has spread until it includes every phase of industrial lif o. The policemen also threaten to walk out if the demands of the strifleres are not granted. No trains are running from Winnipeg, and the telegraphs and telephones are not working. Winnipeg is practically isolated, and for many hours was without bread or milk. Business is at a standstill, and the newspapers have not ■published. The more radical elements declare they will establish a Soviet Government, and take control of property
