The General Elections' in Tasmania, will have been completed by the time these notes appear The. Labour. Pajty was weaker in tho House recently dissolved than for many years. The last elections gavo Labour 14 seats out of 30, but two members left the party when tho Australian split came, and two others iresigned their State seats in order to take part in the Federal contest. The result was that Labour was loft with 10 seats out of 30. The system of proportional representation is in force in Tasmania, and that should ensure a good represen-. tation for Labour. The Hon. J. T. Paul, in his notes in the Otago Daily Times, shows the position of Labour in the Tasmanian Parliament after the va-Tious GoneTal Elections: — • .
