At Charleston, West Virginia, five persons are dead, and a score of others have been wounded as the result of a battle between strike-breakers and the authorities at the properties of the Kenawha coal area companies. The militia fired on the strikers wholesale, and the rioting "was followed by a regular pitched battle. ' SCORE OF MEN KILLED. MILITIA CIRCUMVENT THE STRIKERS. NEW YORK, llth February. 'At Charleston (♦ score of men were killed following the resumption of rioting at the coal mines. A regiment of militia is camped at the scene of the outbreak. The strikers sought to fire a fusillade on the town of Mucklow, and an engagement occurred when the militia headed them off.
