THE EMPRESS THEATRE

"Christopher Columbus," now showing at the' Empress ( Continuous Pictures, is an educative picture. T v he" main' incidents in the daring navigator's life — from the time he first expounded his theories of a Western passage to Cathay to the moment he kissed the coil of the New World — are depicted in a his-torically-faithful manner. The picture is also remarkable for some well stagemanaged scenes of the brilliant Spanish Court of that period. This picture was distinguished by being exhibited at the Vatican at the request of His Holiness Pope Pius X, who blessed it and presented, Mr. Selig with a medal. The supplementary subjects include "The Gaumont Graphic," "A Brother's Sacrifice," "The Bachelor's Bride," and "She Must Have Swallowed It."' "Christopher Columbus" will appear at all 1 sessions this .evening arid throughout to-morrow.
