London, offers gold and silver medals to those candidates at New Zealand musical •examinations who gain highest honours marks each year. The awards for the year, 1912, are announced as follow: — Advanced Grade.-~Gold medals -Ruby Sybil North, pianoforte, 146 marks (teacher, Mr. A. Vallis, Dunedin). Silver Medal ; Doris A. Bagley, pianoforte. 144 marks (teacher. Miss Yoston, Dimedin). Next in order of merits Valeria C. Corliss (Wellington, 143 marks) 5 Ruby K. Curran (The Convent, Wang&nm, ,141 marks). Intermediate Grade.— Gold medal : Jessie H. C. Cristie, pianoforte, 146 marks (teacher, Miss E. Wright, Dun,edin). Silver medals: Mary Harvey, pianoforte, 140 marks (teacher, Dr. W. E. Thomas, Auckland) $ Renetta Rings, Eianoforte, 140 marks (teacher, "■ St. lominic's Priory, Dunedin). NsaA in order of merits Enid Holmes Dean, pianoforte, 138' marks (teacher, Mr. Ji 81.B 1 . Bennett, Auckland). The victor Harrid Memoriam Gold Medal i Vera Hannan, intermediate vio« lin (teacher, St. Dominic's Priory, Dunedin).
