At the Opera House on Saturday night " Dorothy " was staged before a large audience, who gave the players a hearty send-off. The encores for songs were very numerous, and both Miss Murphy and Misa Arundaje were recoiled several time*.
THE EMPRESS THEATRE. " Christopher Columbus" (or "'lho Discovery of America "), a spectacular historic photo. -drama by the Sclig Company, was exhibited for tho first time to-day at the Empress Theatre Continuous Pictures. It is claimed that this work occupied three years in preparation, and involved 360 performers. In all respects the film comes wpII up to expectations. The main incidents of Columbus's life are illustrated, especially those relating tv the project which culminated in his everlasting fame. Oldfashioned ships rebuilt by the Spanish Government, replicas of the very vessels in which the navigator and his men crossed the Atlantic, figure in the story. The film was exhibited at the Vatican by request of the Pops. There are also a number of attractive minor photo-plays. "Christopher Columbus" will be repeated to-night and throughout tomorrow at all sessions.
