MONTHLY MEETING, j The monthly meeting of the liutt Rivet 1 Board wns held last oVcnjng. There were present : — Messrs. Baldwin (chairman). Knight, Bowers, .Welch. 'and Kennedy. ■ Messrs. Field and Luckie, on behalf of the Hayward Land Company, ;,forwarded a letter approving the work ae* complished by the board and suggesting that as a means of further, l/rotegtihg their land a channel be cut to' divert a, poi'tioh of the stream, life ' feosC of. which work the company would undertake to pay provided the amount*- did not exceed £10. _ This matter was'con* sidered in committee. >.The overseer (Mr. TS. Fisher 1 ), in his monthly report, stated, in reference to hew work in the upper district that 6 chains of rivei bank on the Haywards Company's property had been completed at a cost of £34 9s (estimated cost £26). The erection of No. 5 boom groyne on the western side of the river near Silverstream railway bridge, was completed tit> a cost of £53 8s lid (estimate (£SO BsO.
