BOWLING
Considerable progress^ was made yesterday with the champion of champions singles competition for players of sixtyfive years and over, from the Wellington, Thorndon, Victoria, and Newtown Clubs. The clubs concerned sent the following competitors: — Wellington, G. Evans and Loclde; Thorndon, Freeman and Gamble ; Victoria, Anderson and Armit ; Newtown, Price and Meyriek. On the Wellington Club's green yesterday Freeman beat Anderson, Gamwo beat Ar«tit, and Freeman, beat Gamble. This afternoon Evans meets PHco arid Lockie meets Meyriek. Tho winners will play off Inter in the day, and the winner will meet Freeman in the final at 2 p.m. <m Moaday*
