The Southland Provincial Championehipa, under the auspices of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, were held to-day, in warm weather, but a strong wind was blowing across the ground. The following have been chosen to represent Southland in the New Zealand championship meeting at Wellington :— G. P. Keddell, 120 and 440 hurdles, 100 yds fiat, broad jump, and high jump; M. Kean, throwing tho hammer; A. L. Reid, putting the shot and long jump; F. Hazlett, hop, stop, and jump, boad jump, pole vault, 120 hurdles, and high jump; N. G. Saunders, 100 yds, 220 yds, 440 yds flat; H. H. Whittaker, pole vault; R. Giller, high jump and pole vault; T. Seddon, mile and three mile events; E. 0. Jarrold, putting the shot; T. R. Robertson, mile, three mile, hop, step, and jump, and broad jump. PETONE JUNIOR CLUB. The first evening sports meeting of the Petone Junior Sports Club for the year was held last night.
