In answer to a question regarding the rumour stated to be curlent in Wellington, that the Wellington Farmers' Meat Company's , agreement Avith the slaughtermen had not yet been signed, ' Mr. J. C. Cooper, managing director, informed a reporter that the draft agreement had been prepared and forwarded to the secretarj' oi the Slaughtermen's Union. Although the agreement had not been actually feigned, the terms contained, in it had conio into force on Thursday of last Aveek. The Waingawa freezing Avorks are handling about 2000 head of sheep per day, besides a number of cattle and' ! WORKING AT WAITAKA. (by tklegbaph— press association.) I NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. Borth'.vick's Waitara freezing works resumed killing this morning, Avith six men on the board. Mr. W. Borthwick says ho is well satisfied -with their work, and will have no trouble in filling : the boards.
