Lady Manning (nee Miss Clara Maud Ross, daughter of Mr. C. J. Ross, of Grosvenor-square) left Nyasaland in 1910 for the benefit of her health, and when Sir' William Manning returned to England he found that she had eloped with Captain Llewellyn, who was aide-de-camp in Nyasaland. and was absent on leave.
