DEATH OF CONSTABLE DOYLE

A MAN' ARRESTED. ,(8Y TELEGRAPH- -PRESS ASSOCIATION.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. Constable Doyle, who was admitted to the Palmerston Hospital on Monday, suffering from a broken leg and facial abrasions, the result of an assault made upon him at Shannon last Saturday, died at 5.30 this morning. Deceased was not altogether a strong man, and he was on sick leave for a bime last September. He was about 35 years of age, and married. He leaves a widow and two children, who refaide in Auckland. A man named M'Donald was arrested on Monday, and remanded yesterday for a week.
