Last night a deputation from the Sports Sub-cohtmittee waited on the Wellington Boxing Association, and asked tlie association to assist the carnival J>y organising a boxing tournament to be held on a convenient night wjthin a day dr two of Easter. It 'was stated that the Finance. Committee of tlie City Council had promised to give the use of the Town Hall for the tournament free of charge. The Boxing Association agreed to the proposal, undertaking to prepare an attractive programme. It wilt include contests for novices, university students, ,and amateurs generally, also a match between Hoggarty and Porter. It is expected that the tournament will yield a considerable sum of money.
