CENSUS RETURNS.
[BY TELEGRAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] WANGANUI, 24bh April. Returns supplied by the census enumerator give the population of 'the borough of Wanganui ab 10,930, as against 8175 at last census. To this must b* added the immediate suburbs of Wanganui East (1738), Gonville (1554), and Castlecliff (630), making the population of Greater Wanganui 14,852 in all. INVERCAEGILL, 24th April. The following are the unchecked census returns for the boroughs of Invereargill, Campbelltown, Gore, Mataura, Winton, and tho townships of Wyndham and Lumsden. Increat&s are recorded in «ach case. Tha figure* for 1906 are given first in paT«nthesis : — Inveroargill (not including Lindisfarne), 1906 (12,507); 1911, 14,159; total increase, 1652. Gor* (3033), 3258; increase,, 225. Campbelltown (1472), 1796; increase, 324. Mataura (1025), 1197; increase, 174. Winton (456), 564; inerease,loß. Wyndham (532), 663; increase, 131. Lumsden (496), 522; increase, 26. WESTPORT, This Day. The population of the borough of Westport and the county of Buller is 11,640, an increase of 2539. The borough increased from 3645 to 4726.
