Tahi Kaka has been remanded to • 26th April on the charge of murdering John Freeman at Puhipuhi on or about sth April. The inquest has been resumed, and a Jiumbar of native witnesses 'have given evidence, generally verifying Kaka's sudden acquisition of wealth aaid the lavish spending on himself and others a few days after the supposed date of tho murder. The prisoner still appears callously - indifferent.
