ARE WE TOO SLOW?

TO THE KMTOR. Sir,— l can quite endorse your remarks in article headed "To Let." Tho ayeraga Wellingtoman is inclined to decry his city instead of trying to help to boom it — what a difference you will find in the Aucklander, who feels quite hurt if one speaks slightingly of the northern town — I admire the Aucklander for it although I know they havo not much love for Wellington. Our Chamber of Commerce men are not near as enorgetio as they should be on behalf of our city. It is only quite recently they have let Auckland secure the American Fleet, P. and O. boats, Naval base for British squadrons, and now it has taken His Excellency. Wo are too slow altogether. — I am, etc., DISGUSTED.
