Children playing with matches started a fire in the village of Londau, near Duderstadt, ie tha prorinco of Hanover, Prussia. Several peasant farmsteads were destroyed, with many, cattle and poultry. The fires dried the village wells, and the hoses were insufficient to reach the stream.
