METHODIST BIBLE UNION.

ANNUAL CAMP AND CONVENTION. At the Easter encampment meetings^ of the above union, much interest is being taken locally. On Sunday evening a parade to Petone was held by the young men, and a largely-attended open-air meeting was held in Jackson-street. Following this service was conducted in the Palace Theatre, Petone, by the Re-v. E. O. Blamires, after which the campers again paraded to the park. On the Sunday afternoon, following up the missionary studies which have bean made a special feature in the camp, the topic for discussion introduced by Christohurch delegates was "The Evangelisation of the World in this Generation." Tho meeting was tho climax of the series of studies, and as the result there was inaugurated a Methodist Bible Class Union Foreign Mission Fund. The union set as their goal for this year the raising among themselves of £100 for the purpose of training one of their own men to represent them in tho foreign field. The matter 'was further brought up after the evening service, when a number of tho members signed the student volunteer movement declaration, offering themselves for foreign mission work. At the annual business meeting election of officers for the New Zealand Executiveof the union, which has this year been fixed for Wellington, resulted as follows: President, Rev. A. B. Chappell, M.A. ; vice-presidents, Revs. E. 0. Blamires, Fred. Rands, and Mr. A. S. Doust; secretary, Mr. J. Isaac Raihe; assistant secretary and treasurer, Mr. P. Newton Clark. The location of the next camp was fixed for Christchuroh. The competitive speech on "Militarism" was won by Mr. A. Avery, of Blenheim, Mr. M'Elwain, of T.Y.M.1., Wanganui, coming second. The medals for winners of races and the union banner for the class gaining the highest number of points in" the-.. sports were presented by the president of the Young Women's Methodist Bible Class Union, Mrs. E. 0. Blamires. Tho athletic games resulted as follows: — Rugby: Wellington v. tho World—Wellington 12, the World 6. Hockey: Canterbury 3 v. Creation 1. Association : Auckland v. the Universe — Drawn game, enither side scoring. Y.M.1., of Wanganui, coming second, with 24, Otaki third with t° YOUNG WOMEN'S CLASS. The Young Women's Methodist Biblo Class- Union convention closed last night in tho Taranaki-strGet Church.
