AUCTION AND PROPERTY SALES

An auction sale of Auckland property will be held by Mr. J. Thornes, at the Chamber of Commerce, Swanson-street, Auckland, on Wednesday, 26th April, at 2.30 p.m. The sale is by order of the trustees in the estate of the late John Mowbray, and consists of the three-story block of shops and offices known as "Tho British Buildings," in the heart of Queenstreet. It stands on a freehold allotment, having 40 feet of frontage to Queen-street, by 76 feet. The auctioneer states that the property produces, on present rentals, over £1200 per _ year, and in two years tho leases fall in, and the rentals can then bo increased. Messrs. J. H. Bethune and Co. announce in our auction columns that on Thursday next, at 2 p.m., at the residence, corner South-terrace and Kelburno-parade, under inductions from Mr. R. Nitz, who is leaving for Hawkes Bay, they are selling his household furniture and appointments. Amongst the articles to bo submitted are drawing-room suito, tea tables, whatnots, nine-piece dining-room suite, sideboard, bedsteads and bedding, kitchen utensils, garden tools,_ and sundries. The furniture will be on view on Wednesday afternoon. The firm announce that on Tuesday, 25th inst., at their rooms, 'at 3 p.m., under instructions from the Registrar of the Supreme Court, they are submitting a residential property at Rata-road, Hataitai. This comprises freehold land with an area of 14.7 perches, part section 3, Evans Bay district, with a dwelling of five rooms and conveniences i thereon. Messrs. Bethune and Co. also insert an amended list of business and residential properties which they have on their books for private sale, and they specially advertise to let a furnished residence on Wellington-terrace; also a centrally-situated hall. Messrs. A. L. Wilson and Co. will sell on Thursday, at 1 o'cldbk, at the residenco, 18, Kensington-street, on behalf of Mr. C. M. Montefiore, tho contents of his 10-roomed house, including an upright grand piano, Aeolian pianola and forty records, and full-longth billiard table by Alcock. On Friday, at the "section adjoin- } ing the Public Trustee Office, Lambtonquay, commencing at 10.30, of account of Mr. _P. C. Watt, contractor, a quantity of timber and other building plant will be sold without reserve. In the afternoon, commencing at 1.30 p.m., the tirin sell, at the residence, 18, Austin-street, the contents of 6 rooms, including a quantity of linen and blankets. On Wednes. daj', 26th April, at 11 a.m., they will sell, at the railway siding, Waikanae, on account jf Messrs. C. *and J. Odlin, Ltd., who are re-arranging their stocks, 80,000 ft of building timber in all sizes. The firm also insert particulars of the sale as a going concern of a atone-crushing and gravel gang plant, Bclmont, on account of Messrs. Pitcailhley and Co. The sale will ba held at tho auction rooms at 12 o'clook on Friday, 27th April Messrs. J. W. Braithwaite and Co. .nil hold a sale, of 'household furniture and effects at the City Auction Mart, Man-nera-streot, on Tuesday next, at 2 p.m. The contents of 6 rooms will be submitted. Tho same firm have also received instructions to sell at 69, Hanson-street, on Wednesday next, at 2 p.m., tho household furniture and effects. On Thursday next Messrs. Mounsey and Co. will, by order of fcho mortgagee, offer a property at Palmerston North. Particulars aro advertised in this itjsue. Messrs. T. Kennedy Macdonald, Ltd., will hold a sale of building material of all descriptions at Dymock and.Co.'s late premises, AVatorloo-quay, on Friday, commencing at 1.30 o'clock sharp. Tho mataria'l includes 600 sheets galvanised iron, 15,000 ft. T. and G. flooring, doors, windows, and sashes.
