fBT TELEGKAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 12th April. There was a good attendance of buyers and others interested at the weekly sale of | stock at Aldington to-day. Fair-conditioned young owes held their own, but the wethers wore difficult to quit. Fair two-tooth eweß, 12s to 13s 3d; inferior, 9s to 10s 9d ; four and six-tooth, 11s to 12s 3d ; four-tooth (good), 10s 6d to 11s Id; mixed ages, 8s to 9s 6d; low-condi-tioned lines, 6s to 7s ; and gummies, 2s to ss. In lambs one exceptionally good line made 10s 7d, the next highest being 3s 9d. Good sorts made 8s to 8s 9d ; medium, 6s to 7s ; small, 4s 6d to 5s 9d ; and culls, 2s 6d upwards. -Halfbred wethers realised 10s 7d, and small and low-conditioned sorts to 7s lOd. Exporters took 6359 lambs at prices ranging from 9s 5d to 16s 3d, the majority being bought at 13s 6d to 14s 6d; butcher's, 442, at 10s 4d to 15s 6d ; and a pen | of 72 was passed at 13s. A couple of pet lambs were offered, and topped the market at 17s. At the corresponding sale last year there were 10,536 lambs yarded, the range of prices boing 11 3 3d to 17s 3d. Fat Shaep.— Tho range of prices was:— Prime wethers, 15s 6d to 173 6d; extra to 18s 2d; others, 11s 9d to 15s; light and unfinished, 9s upwards ; prime ewes, 12s 6d to 16s; extra to 17s 9d; medium, 8s 6d to 12s 3d ; aged and light, 7s 6d- to 8s ; merino wethers, 9s lOd to 12s 6d. Fat Cattle.— Four fat working bullocks realised £11 12s 6d to £20; steers made £7 12s 6d to £13 ss; heifers, £5 to £10 ss; and dry cows, £5 5s to £9 17s 6d. Best steer beef made 25s to 29s 6d ; medium, 22s to 23s 6d; and cow and inferior beef 20s to 21s 6d. Vealerß.— There was a good entry of fat calves, and the usual demand. Prices ranged from 4s 6d to 575, according to size and condition. Store Cattle.— There was only a small entry, principally old cows, and the demand was weak. Fifteen to 18-months sorts made £1 8s 6d to £1 16s; 2-year steers, £3'^b to £3 18s; 2-year heifers, £3 to £3 6s ; extra, to £4 ; 3-year steers, £5 ss; 3-year heifers, £3 17s 6d; dry cows, to £4 15e. Dairy Cows. — There was a fair entry of dairy cows, including some useful sorts. Sales were made at prices ranging from £4 10s to £9 10s.
