KILBIRNIE TRAM SERVICE.
TO THE EDITCK. Sir, — Thero is no doubt that ths public of Hataifcai and Kilbirnie are long siMiering in so far us the i''uni service is. c&r.cenwd. The present, euvice is a disgrace, and should not be tolerated. The crushing and crowding that goes on at Courtenay-pla-ce between 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. daily, and, in alesser degree, at Hata-itai every morning between 7.30 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. is nothing moro nor less; than a scandal. E**en this is nothing to wh.it it is on Saturday nights. On Saturday night last my wife, 'children, and s-slf intended to- go 'to town frcm Hataitai at about 6.45 p.m., but, alas for our intention. Each car w-r.s simply paefced. I managed to c e t oa the third car which passed, and in tho compaixmcn'D there wpb a total of eight-een. My wife decided to walk ov-er the hill after she had waited without success until 7.30 p.m. I trust that other membors cf the Kilbirnie ajid Hataitai public Vvill be".r out -what 1 have said above, as the statements are bald i'?cts without any exaggeration. — I am, etc.. HATAITAI. Wellington, 11th April, 1911.
