MUNICIPAL MARKETS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Is it not- reasonable to ask that the' ratepayers should insist on some practical data from those candidates ior municipal honours who make- the abovea, plank in their platform. Their idea, of the estimated running expenditure, the estimated revenue, and from whom received would form interesting food for criticism as a stare. I have attended several meetings of the Labour candidates, but all I hear is the reiteration, "We want markets." L'cforeth© City Council discusses a scheme fraught with difficulty, possible failure, and which requires the most careful enquiry and deup consideration, the ratepayers should possess something more definite to go upon in recording their votes than mere vague catch cries oi "we want markets. — 1 am., etc., MORE LIGHT.
