HONE HEKE MONUMENT.

AUCKLAND. 10th April. Maoris from all parte of the North leland are arriving for the unveiling of the Hone Heke monument afc Ivaikc-he, the total number there now exceeding 2000. Keligious exercises are features ox the gathering. The Hon. J. Carroll arrived there to-day, and had a grea-t reception, some i 400 women decorated with evergreens, and a simitar number of men stripped to the • waist chanting a welcome. A number of old-time ceremonies were observed.
