[We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinions of our correspondents.] TO THE EDITOR OF THE EVENING POST. Sia —In your Monday evening's issue there is a report of the meeting of the Town Bo'ird, which I presume to be a correct one of what took place in reference to one item brought before the Board, relative to the street (amps. Any person reading the article would imagine Mr Mills had supplied the de. sign to the meeting, and had given in the estimate as to {he cost. Mr >keet called upon me and asked for an estimate for about ten lamps. I agreed to supply them at £10 each, and furnished him with the design tor them, to remedy the defect of the old style of lamp, which would be quite useless here during high winds. I care^ery litMe about the order, but it is the shabby way in which things' ii,re done —giving me the trouble and letting another person receive the credit. I am, &c, W. F. Mason) Ironmonger, Lambton Quay. 6th December, 1865. [It Mr Mason will refer to Monday's Post, he wijh'find that the matter to which he refers occurs iv the City Surveyor's report to the Board of Conmissi'jners.'l
