John Lane was charged by Serpeaut Crowdor with drunkenness, when his Worship inflicted a penalty of twenty shillings. L:\ne was then charged with larceny. It appeared that when brought to the station for drunkenness, prisoner underwent the usu.il search made on such occasions, and some cambric handkerchiefs and stockings, but lately from the washtub, were found on his person. An owner was sought, and Mr. Benjamin Levy, of Lambton quay, identified the property as belonging to him. Prisoner was sent to gaol for three months. John Laml'ton, for drunkenness, was fined 20^,, or 48 hours' imprisonment. A few cases of debt were disposed of. Mr. Buck summoned Frank Towers and John Dunn for the sum 0i~£%5 15s , rent for the use of the Odd Fellows' Hall as a theatre. Plaintiff failing to produce a deed empowering him to auc on behalf of the trustee, his Worship dismissed the case. M'Kcuzie v. Towers and Dunn ; debt, X2G Ha, ior printing and publishing. It appeared thit previous to Mr. Dunn leaving town he presented Mr. M'Kenzie with a molhfier, in the shape of a bill for a portion of the debt, but, alas, it was dishonoured. His Worship gavcjudjjmrnt with costs. The ease of Ferguson v. Morrow, for the sum of £i& 4s. 6d. was referred to arbitration Webb v. Mitchell ; debt, £12 Bs.—Judgment for XI O and costs.
