LATEST FROM HOKITIKI.
The Nelson Colonist, of the 18th instant, says — " Yesterday" morning the s.s. Wallaby arrived from Hokitiki, bringing 10,000 os. of gold and 23 passengers, all of whom speak favourably of the good prospects of the gold field — prospects of which the present importation is an earnest of continued excellence. " There has been a great rush to the Grey, from the Waimea, the Kanieri, and other districts of the Hokitika. Our informant tells us that from 900 to 1000 men went to the Grey last week. " Another rush south to the Totara, and one to a creek about nine miles north of the. Totara, have occurred during the last ten days." __„_____»«_
