The Land Laws are working successfully. £18,000 were lodged at Sale, Gipp's Land, in one day The National Bank is to issue new shares. The Sydney Roman Catholic Cathedral has been destroyed by fire. £10,000 have been subscribed to re-build it. Green won the sculling match. Thompson the bushranger, has been convicted, and sentenced to 30 yeaars' imprisonment with hard labor, upon the roads.
