Mrs R. J. McConnell, of Leeston, is j .pending a month's health-recruiting aoliday in South Canterbury. Mrs Joseph Brooks and Miss Joyce Brooks, of Irwell, returned this week from a visit to the Waikato. Miss Margaret Nixon, of Killinchy, left last Monday to spend the winter in Sydney. Dr. Shortt, of Dargaville, and Mrs Shortt (formerly Miss Rita Nixon), are to arrive from the North Island during the week-end on a holiday visit to Canterbury. They are expected to make a stay at Killinchy. Mr A. Breward, M.A., of the Southbridge District High School staff, visited Christchurch this afternoon to attend the Canterbury College capping ceremony. Mr Breward gained his degree at the last University examinations.
