TO-DAY'S LEESTON STOCK SALE.
SHARP RISE IN BACONERS,
In all sections at the fortnightly stock sale held at Leeston yards today entries were below the usual dimensions, but the attendance of farmers and others was up to the average. The only section in which any noteworthy change in values was observed was that devoted to fat pigs, where there was a marked allround advance in prices, more particularly for baconers. Store pigs continued to bring satisfactory rates, and there was a fairly good demand. Few really prime lambs were offered, the best sale being a line of 26 at 15/2. There was practically no | change in either ewes or wethers. The chief sales included the following: For Mrs A. Willey (Lakeside), 63 fat lambs 13/7; J. H. Hampton (Leeston), 131 fat lambs 13/11; Joseph Heslop (Brookside), 97 ewes 6/-; R.
