SPRINGSTON SOUTH

SCHOOL CONCERT.

The Springston South Hall was crowded on Tuesday evening, when a concert by the school pupils took place. The teachers, Mrs Newstead^ and Miss Heslop, with the kind assistance of Mrs L. R. Dulieu, had worked patiently in training the children, with excellent results. The programme, which was of a varied nature, was greatly enjoyed by all. The items were as follow:— Town Crier, Arthur Eilken; song, "Toymakers' Dream," the pupils; recitat-* tion, Harvey Archbold; song, infants; recitation, Vida Shackel and Gordon Eaglestone; folk dance, senior pupils; song, "I don't want to play in your yard," Joyce Moore and Dorothy Cook; dance, "Pussy Willow," infants; song, "Oh, no, John," Lois Dulieu and Tom Hamilton; dialogue, "Bargain Hunters," Joyce Moore, Emma Tyson, Dorothy Cook, Joan Bray and Harvey Archbold; dance, "Daisies," pupils; recitation, Bruce Chapman; cradle song, the pupils; recitation, Peace Hamilton; song, "CindereUa," infants; recitation, Owen Hoskin and RusseU Carter; novelty drill, senior boys; song, "Ten little Nigger Boys," and Negro Minstrels, -senior boys; recitation, Venus Musson and Reg. Sadler; song, "AlohaOe," senior girls; recitation, "Pa goes skating" and "Dad's got 'flu," Tom Hamilton; song, "Spanish Cavaliers" and "Solomon Levi," senior pupils; recitation, Leslie Moore; dialogue, "Uncle Podger," senior pupils; song, "Lazy Mary," Lois Dulieu, Dorothy Cook and Bruce Chapman; recitation, WiUie Dutton; dialogue, "Visitors from the city," Peace Hamilton, Anice Musson, Dorothy Cook, Reg. Sadler, Bruce Chapman and Fred Chapman; song, "Picking Daisies," Phyllis Bennett; recitation, Arthur Eilken; song, "Dream Man's Train," the pupils. After supper a dance was held. Mr Les. Everest was the musician and jtffcr H. A. Fletcher M.C.
