MUSICAL SOCIETY.

I A meeting convened by Mrs J. , R. McGill and L. B- Wilson, : for *the purpose of forming a musical society, was held in the Duns"andel Library on Tuesday evening. Mr F- Lill was elected president of the , society and presided over, the meeting/ Mr Wilson explained the benefits that could be obtained by forming a society and Mrs MeGiil also spoke on the subject, referring to her experiences in societies in Scotland. Quite a lot of business j in connexion with the formation was put through. Mrs McGill was appointed leader of the choir, while Mr Wilson was elected-hon-orary' secretary and treasurer. The society will meet for practice on Tuesday, April 5. Mr Wilson will be pleased to hear from intending members, who are requested to hand an their names as soon as possible, and the fee of 5s entitles the member to all benefitsCROQUET. Bight members of the Linwood Croquet Club visited Dunsandel on with the local croquet club. The Wednesday to play a return matah whole of. the day was spent in play and as the Linwood players had t'u leave by train several of the games were unfinished. The following are the results, Linwood names being mentioned first :— '"Singles.—Mrs Snell lost.to Mrs N. J- Brown, Mrs Jones lost to Mrs John Walker, Mrs Jones lost, tv Mrs Stewart, Mrs Bonnington lost to Mrs Tweedy sen., Miss Harkness lost to Mrs McPhe.rson, Mrs Kilner v. Mrs H. F. Wright' (unfinished), Mrs Cooper v- Mrs F. Lill (unfinished), Mrs Roseoe v. Mrs W. McMillan (unfinished). Doubles—Mesdames Snelr and Jones beat Mesdames N. J. Brown and John Walker, Mrs Cooper and Miss Harkness lost to Mesdames Lill and McPherson, Mesdames Bonnington and Kilner beat Mesdames Wright and Tweedy, Mesdames Jones and Roseoe- beat Mesdames Stewart and McMillan-
