Leeston Bazaar

.'.'v. BOWLING, TENNIS AND CROQUET CLUB. Seldom, if ever, has there been so much enthusiasm shown in connexion with a local bazaar as is 1 the case with ; the Leeston Bowling^ Tennis and Croquet Club's fixture which takes place on April 8 and 9. The members have set themselves the task of raising a substantial sum of money with the object of wiping off the debt remaining oii the fine property owned by the club. That they will reach the goal aimed r at is practically certain if the enthusiasm that is so apparent at present is kept up. At a meeting held on Tuesday night to advance the arrangements for the bazaar, there was an attendance of about 40' members, ladies and gentlemen. Mr S. Johnston, president of the club, was in the chair. The reports from the various sub-committees were of an encouraging nature, and it was evident that members were doing their best to carry out the duties allotted to them. It was decided to ask the schoolchildren to assist in the matter of displays. An offeirof a beautiful piece of work from Mrs Donald was accepted with thanks. It was agreed that a social and dance should be held in the Town Hall next Wednesday to provide funds for stallholders. Tickets for the competitions were allotted to the various stall holders. It was decided to hold meetings every week. .'» - -
