Sir, —In fairness to the Ellesmert Brass Band, I wish to state thai the band received no notificatior as to the County Trotting Club'f arrangements for the supply o: music for the race meeting iv Apri next. Thus the band was given n< chance to offer their services—fre» or otherwise. The oversight wai unfortunate, as the band woulc have been only too pleased to as sist the club to the best of it ability. The palm for generosit; does not lie solely with the South bridge and Pipe Bands.—l am,etc T. F. OWENS, Conductor E. 8.8.
